![]() ![]() Every time I hit the home button, the Fire Launcher starts, and the option to set the default launcher in Nova just directs me to the kindle settings, where no default app settings are to be found. However, I can't find a way to set Nova Launcher as the default launcher. I managed to install the Nova Launcher apk by copying it directly onto the Fire and allowing unsigned apps. While it seems that at this point there is no known method to downgrade to an earlier version of Fire OS, nor root without bricking the device, I tried to make do with what is available. I just got a used but near mint condition Kindle Fire 7 5th generation which unfortunately came with Fire OS 5.3.1.0.
